P.075 EEG features reflecting the neurodevelopmental assessment at term equivalent age in preterm born infants

چکیده
Background: In Canada, 7% of children are born preterm between 29 and 36 weeks gestational age (GA). Electroencephalography (EEG) provides a bedside evaluation brain activity, yet the clinical significance several EEG patterns requires further study. The goal this study is to determine features at term equivalent (TEA) that correlate with neurodevelopmental TEA in infants 29-36 GA. Methods: Prospective cohort GA 1 hour recording TEA. discontinuity index (proportion <25mcV amplitude) spectral power densities were calculated as well mean maximum values interburst intervals. At TEA, neurodevelopment was evaluated using General Movement Optimality Score (GMOS) . Linear regression analyses used evaluate association assessment. Results: Eighty-two (median 33.6 weeks) included (47 males). Median GMOS 29.0 (IQR 24.3-35.0). A greater associated reduced (B -6.85; 95% CI -12.13,-1.57; p=0.012). Conclusions: more abnormal Ongoing longitudinal assessments needed better prognostic potential EEG.

Adiposity in small for gestational age preterm infants assessed at term equivalent age.
OBJECTIVE Infants classified as small for gestational age are considered to have developed under adverse intrauterine conditions that lead to lack of fat mass accretion. The aim of this study was to test the null hypothesis that the fat mass in preterm small for gestational age infants assessed at term equivalent age was not different from that of full-term small for gestational age newborns. ...

متن کاملThyroid hormone supplementation in preterm infants born before 28 weeks gestational age and neurodevelopmental outcome at age 36 months.
BACKGROUND Thyroid hormones are required for normal brain maturation, and neonatal plasma thyroid hormone concentrations are low in infants less than 28 weeks gestation. It is not known whether treatment of such infants with thyroid hormone improves neurodevelopmental outcome. METHODS At three years corrected age, mental, motor, and neurological development was assessed in infants born at les...
متن کاملLinguistic features in children born very preterm at preschool age.
AIM This cross-sectional study focused on the effect of very preterm (VPT) birth on language development by analysing phonological, lexical, grammatical, and pragmatic skills and assessing the role of cognitive and memory skills. METHOD Sixty children (29 males, 31 females) born VPT (<32wks) aged 5 years were compared with 60 children with typical development. The linguistic assessment was pe...
متن کاملBrainstem auditory evoked potentials in late preterm infants at term-equivalent age.
To detect differences between late preterm and term infants in the brainstem auditory evoked response (BAER) variables that predispose to neurodevelopmental abnormalities, 36 late preterm infants and 87 term infants were recruited. Data collected with the click level at 70 dB nHL were used for analysis. The latencies of waves I (2.74±0.20 msec vs. 2.74±0.42 msec), III (5.55±0.33 msec vs. 5.53±0...
